Cypress Tiger Cubs receive a whole child education in a positive community environment! As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, students are taught through inquiry and have a role in their own education through voice, choice, and agency. In accordance with being a Certified IB World school, Spanish classes are taught weekly to all grade levels and incorporated into classroom lessons and campus activities. Students are also enriched with art, PE, music, Makerspace, and library. We also utilize our new Outdoor Learning Lab with amphitheater seating, native plants, lab tables, water streams, and more to enrich our unique IB units. As a Cypress community, we hold a morning assembly twice a month for students and families where important announcements are made, and student recognitions are celebrated. Students are taught to be kind, reflective, good communicators, to be open-minded and more through the 10 IB learner profile attributes. The active student council enriches the school with positive activities and dress days as well as creates video announcements twice a month to share about upcoming dress days, PTA events, the monthly Spanish challenge, reminders to be kind, and much more.

At Walnut Elementary, staff, students, and families work in partnership to foster an inclusive environment where all students grow academically, artistically, and socially. Walnut's devoted staff members share a common philosophy of excellence in instruction and the belief that the elementary experience sets the foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Walnut uses much of its Title 1 grant to hire additional credentialed teachers to support both academic intervention and enrichment. Students participate in focused, small group instruction each day during Target Time to target just what they need to grow, whether that is extra academic support, additional practice, or enrichment. Walnut also invests in the arts and digital technology for a well-rounded educational experience. Along with regular music, art, PE, and dance/movement instruction, all of our students participate in a grade-level musical each year that reinforces concepts they are studying in class.
Our Create Club recess option allows students' imaginations to run free as they experiment with a variety of materials (mostly recycled items) to make their own creations. The counseling and social-emotional team operates the Peace Room, where students can come to find peace within themselves or in their relationships at school.
Walnut is a Certified Kindness School, which fits well with our motto: "Walnut: Where Everyone Belongs!"

- Arts – All our students receive music and art through their specialist schedule, Students also have the opportunity to participate in the Band and Strings program during the school day and our Chorus program after school.
- Technology – Our Makerspace Room is a space for students to grow in creativity, collaboration, and problem solving through STEAM technologies including robotics, crafting, coding, video and movie making technology, 3D printing, and engineering. Through innovative and engaging educational practices, we aim to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge. iPads and Chromebooks are available to all students with one-to-one implementation in all grades. Our younger wizards use ipads while our 2nd-5th graders are comfortable with chromebooks. Our 1st graders are able to learn how to navigate both the ipad and chromebook.
