Join Us in Welcoming Shanda Lee, CVUSD’s New Director of Special Education: Elementary & Preschool!

Shanda LeeThe Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to welcome Shanda Lee to her new role as the District’s Director of Special Education: Elementary and Preschool.

Ms. Lee brings to the CVUSD exceptional leadership skills and a strong commitment to supporting students and families. She has more than 25 years of experience in education, including special education supervisory experience, most recently serving in the role of: Program Specialist for Moorpark Unified School District. She also has two decades of knowledge as an educator with classroom experience in both general and special education. 


“We are excited to welcome Ms. Lee to our District’s Special Education team,” said Dr. Shanna Egans, CVUSD’s Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. “Her vast educational experience showcases a strong dedication to the implementation of best practices and an unwavering commitment to improving outcomes for students with disabilities.”


Under the professional direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Student Services, the Director of Special Education, Preschool and Elementary is responsible for all aspects of the District’s Preschool and Elementary Special Education Division. Ms. Lee will work directly with the Special Education Coordinators to develop, implement, and evaluate services for CVUSD’s students. She will work across disciplines to facilitate cohesive systems that ensure access and equity for students with disabilities.

 

Ms. Lee is a current doctoral candidate at California Lutheran University, where she is on track to earn her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (K-12) in May 2025. She previously earned her Master of Arts, Education from California State University Channel Islands, and Bachelor of Arts, Languages from University of California at Riverside. She also holds Administrative Services, Education Specialist Instruction, and Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials.

Ms. Lee will officially begin her new role with the CVUSD effective July 1, 2024.
