A MESSAGE FROM OUR STUDENT COUNCIL ADVISOR: BRIAN BALSLEYAs Glenwood Student Council Advisor for fourteen years, I have had the great opportunity to work with our fantastic, spirited upper grade Glenwood Gators. Our student council is open to all 3rd -5th graders who take their academics and citizenship seriously. Students interested in joining student council can run for office and learn how elections and meetings are run. Student council offers our students leadership opportunities to help at school, provide information to others, and interact with fellow students, teachers, parents, and administrators. Best of all, our student council members develop a deep sense of school spirit and community responsibility by participating in annual charity events such as Toys for Tots, and the Manna Food Bank. Glenwood special events like Red Ribbon Week, Monster Mash, and Earth Day, help to make student council a busy, fun, and generous social club.
Let's Hear What Our Student Council Members Have to Say!"At Student Council, we do fundraisers and help to plan events such as the Pancake Breakfast, Crazy Sock Day. We have spirit days like Twin Day, Crazy Tie Day, and Pajama Day. There are also special days like Earth Day, Red Ribbon Week, GGG Assemblies, and more." - Leah, grade 5"Student Council is about helping the school by making posters, helping with spirit days, fundraisers and pajama day.
