• Welcome to the Glenwood Library!

Each week, our Glenwood students come through the library and are greeted by our librarian, Mrs. Heninger. She introduces them to books, reads them stories, and then allows them time to look through and select books that they can check out themselves!

We have books of many levels from easy picture books to longer chapter books, and many of them are also Accelerated Reader titles!  In addition, we have books available in Spanish!

Parents needing resources are also welcome to come in to ask for assistance as well from Mrs. Heninger. We are incredibly fortunate to also have the Thousand Oaks Library close to our site and encourage students and parents to use the resources there as well!

  • Meet Mrs. Heninger!

Mrs. Heninger, a California native, graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a BA degree. After managing two art galleries in Los Angeles for several years, she married Jerry and returned to the Conejo Valley as Admin. Office Manager of the Brown Realtors/Westlake Village Info. Center. After starting a family, Mrs. Heninger loved being home with her children until they reached school age.

Mrs. Heninger has two daughters, Tori and Carly, who have both been Glenwood Gators. Mrs. Heninger started volunteering in 2001 when her oldest daughter was in kindergarten, became Campus Supervisor in 2003 and started as Glenwood's Librarian (IMT) in 2004. Throughout the years, she has been involved in PTA and School Site Council.

With her love of books and children, Mrs. Heninger loves working in the library and seeing the students grow throughout the years. One of her favorite moments is when a student comes back in to tell her how much they loved a particular book, asking if there are any more! Her goal has always been to make the library an inviting place for the children to visit. She always welcomes the students to come in outside of their regularly scheduled class time to check out or exchange books.

When Mrs. Heninger is not in the library, she enjoys walking, hiking, biking and camping with her family or just hanging out READING.
