I am honored and humbled to serve as a school leader for Westlake Hills Elementary.  This campus has been an integral part of this exceptional community for over forty years.  Simply put, its reputation precedes itself.   I have been a part of the Westlake cluster for the past fourteen years, serving in a variety of roles from teacher to coach to school administrator.  These various experiences have helped shape my visions and beliefs for our students.  I look forward to working with all of our stakeholders and I am confident that collective efficacy will help transform our professional practices.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family.   With three young daughters at home, my wife and I stay busy with competitive board games, Lego, sports practice, and walking our two pitbulls.  If there happens to be a spare moment in there, you can find me rooting on my alma mater Michigan State University or keeping up on the latest football and basketball scores.

Knowing that time is our most precious resource, it is critical to use these elementary years to lay the foundation for students.  Rigorous academic expectations will be established in conjunction with citizenship excellence.  Our safe campus will allow students to develop the resilience we want for them as they stretch and grow, both academically and socially.  I will ask your child to embrace growth mindset and make each moment count.  As the famous philosopher-coach John Wooden once said, “Make each day your masterpiece”.
