Mrs. Collins has been a teacher for sixteen years. She has taught TK-5^th grades in Minnesota, Iowa, and California. Mrs. Collins is from Minnesota where she grew up surrounded by lakes and nature. She loves teaching literacy, science and using play-based learning in her classroom. Her favorite part of teaching first grade is encouraging a love of learning, exploring, and asking questions. When Mrs. Collins is not teaching, a few of her hobbies are hiking, going to the beach, gardening, cooking, and reading. She lives in Thousand Oaks with her husband and two children.

Teaching is a passion of mine and I am so excited to be here at Cypress! I am married with two daughters, Taylor, who just graduated from NPHS, and Bailey, who is currrently at NPHS. We spend most of our time on the soccer field, at the beach, or volunteering in the community. This is my 24th year of teaching, and my fourth year here at Cypress. I am so happy to be a part of this amazing staff & wonderful community!
