CVUSD Recognizes June as Pride Month

June is Pride Month in recognition of the valuable contributions LGBTQ+ individuals across America have made to our nation, their fight for equality, and their tireless ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice.

LGBTQ+ Americans have made substantial contributions to our nation in areas that include arts and entertainment, education, medicine, public service, athletics, military service, and their advocacy for equal rights.

Pride Month is celebrated every June as a tribute to those involved in the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The first Pride march in New York City was held on June 28, 1970, on the first anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.

At the Wednesday, May 15th Board of Education Meeting Resolution #22/24-25: In Support of Pride Month was approved.
