The District currently operates 31 sites with total buildings in excess of 2 million square feet. The average school site in CVUSD is over forty years old. District schools need additional renovation and modernization, improvements in safety, and significant investments in technology infrastructure and support in order to provide students with an education that will prepare them for success in the new century.
The CVUSD master planning effort requires consulting architecture/master planning support utilizing series of templates and community meetings. -
A site analysis shall be developed for every site which shall be generated from a combination of existing data and on-site data collection/verification. The Master Planning Architect will produce the site analysis report under the direction of Planning and Facilities.
The purpose of the survey is to facilitate the formulation of the District's short term and long term goals. Utilize information and findings of the site survey and site visits to understand the overall dimensions and physical characteristics of the campus.
Site Surveys -
The Final Master Plans for every site based on the presentation and feedback from the architect meetings with the community. It includes a single concept to be considered for long-term and short-term plans. Develop potential projects within the master plan solution.

Why aren’t all CVUSD schools allocated the same amount of Measure I money?
Actually, they are. The allocations are based on type of school and age. Each elementary school is allocated $2.6 million, with the exception of Lang Ranch and Sycamore Canyon because they are much newer campuses. Each middle school is allocated $7.5 million and each high school is allocated $17.5 million. Our other campuses vary in use, size, and age, therefore, the allocations vary slightly. Why is Measure I money being spent on “routine maintenance” repairs?
Measure I is a voter approved ballot measure, that provides $197 million in bonds to, “provide safe, well maintained classrooms, repair/replace electrical, plumbing/roofing, repair, construct, acquire/equip sites/facilities, and improve safety/security,” amongst other technology infrastructure, building, and science lab focused upgrades. Our schools have been maintained over the years, but just like homes of the same age, now require significant modernization, maintenance and repairs to serve future generations of Conejo students. Projects include the repair/replacement of electrical and plumbing infrastructure, roofing, HVAC systems, lighting, cabinetry, windows and flooring. Proposed improvements will provide our students with safe and up to date classrooms while creating comfortable and functional learning environments. What are the project priorities?
As provided to the public in December of 2013, project priorities are grouped in four categories:- Upgrading classroom instructional technology and network infrastructure
- Upgrading science, mathematics and career preparation labs
- Completing modernization, maintenance and repairs at aging schools to provide safe and well-maintained classrooms and schools
- Improve safety and security
Measure I Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee
-
The Conejo Valley Unified School District was successful in the election conducted on November 4, 2014, in obtaining authorization from the District's voters to issue up to $197,000,000 aggregate principal amount of the District's school facilities bond, Measure I (click here for more information about the Measure I ballot question as it appeared on the November 4, 2014 election ballot) Pursuant to Section 15278 of the Education Code, the District is obligated to establish an Independent Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee in order to satisfy the accountability requirements of Proposition 39. The Committee shall confine itself specifically to bond proceeds generated under Measure I. Regular and deferred maintenance projects and all monies generated under other sources shall fall outside the scope of the Committee's review.
Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to share information on an on-going basis about Measure I, and the transformative Measure I projects taking place across the Conejo.
