Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)

  • CVUSD’s Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are members of the Special Education staff who support by providing consultation to special education teachers, related service providers, paraeducators and staff across the specialized programs. BCBA’s have regular dialogue with district school psychologists who are also trained and knowledgeable in behavior analytic strategies to support students across behavior goals and/or intervention plans.

     

    What is a BCBA?

    A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a professional with a graduate-level certification in behavior analysis who is certified by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board.

     

    What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

    Behavior is any action that people do and/or say. Behavior is clearly defined and measurable. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science that studies and focuses on people, the environment and how behavior is taught, learned, and maintained. ABA’s focus is to improve people’s lives through behavior change and analytic strategies that are evidence-based. BCBA’s may provide behavior analytic services such as training, consultation/collaboration and/or behavior analytic supervision across a variety of environments.
