High School Wellness Program

Wellness Programs support the social, emotional, mental health, and wellness of students through school-wide activities, classroom presentations, single course workshops, small group counseling, drop-in, and ongoing individual counseling.
School-wide Events
Lunchtime activities that are based upon wellness wellness themes include activities such as community art projects, games that promote a positive school climate, and age-appropriate healthy coping strategies.
Classroom Presentations
Teachers, coaches, or clubs can request a single presentation or a series on a wellness topic. Examples of topics are listed below.

Small group support
Teachers, counselors, and administrators can request small group support that is offered for 4–8 weeks. Parent/Guardian permission is required for students to participate in small group services.

Drop-in
Teachers, counselors, and administrators can refer students and students can self-refer for drop-in counseling. During a drop-in visit, students are supported with brief, solution-focused support and can be provided with ongoing individual counseling services. Students are sent for drop-in support with a hall pass to the wellness room during wellness hours.
Ongoing Individual Counseling
Teachers, counselors, and administrators can refer students for ongoing, individual counseling. Students are provided with healthy strategies to navigate transitions and events that may elicit a stressful reaction. Students are seen weekly on a rotating schedule to minimize time out of the classroom. Parent permission is required for students to participate in ongoing, individual counseling.
