Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) is pleased to provide all students with a Chromebook through the District’s 1:1 Program. While at no cost to families, proper use and care of the Chromebook is the responsibility of the student and their parent/guardian. To support this program, CVUSD is offering Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) program for parents to eliminate the concern and costs of repairing or replacing damaged, or stolen Chromebooks.

How much is Accidental Damage Protection?

Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) can be purchased for $25 for each District issued ChromebookThe District recommends parents/guardians purchase this device coverage to cover potential incidents like cracked screens, missing keyboard keys, damaged plastics, liquid spills, and theft. Funds from this program will be used to repair damaged devices or replace devices covered under the program.

    When can ADP be purchased?

Is ADP required for my student to receive a District issued Chromebook?

Purchasing Accidental Damage Protection is optional, but highly recommended. ADP purchases are non-refundable. Without ADP, the student’s parent/legal guardian is responsible for all costs associated with the repair or replacement of the device due to accidental damage, or theft. The student’s parent/legal guardian agrees to reimburse the District for the cost of the student Chromebook within 30 days of reporting damage, theft, or any other loss.

    What does ADP cover?

The ADP program protects the student’s district-issued device against a maximum of two (2) instances of accidental damage OR one (1) complete replacement of a damaged beyond repair or stolen device. ADP does not cover lost devices or chargers. Without ADP, typical repair costs for things like a broken screen or keyboard can range from $100-200 depending on the model.  For excessive damage, Chromebooks have a total replacement cost of $400.

    How does ADP work?

Each Accidental Damage Protection plan is worth 2 credits:

    • Single item repair = 1 Credit
    • Device replacement = 2 Credits

If a damaged device is repaired for one (1) credit, the device is NO LONGER eligible for replacement due to insufficient available credits. To qualify for a device replacement after a completed repair, an additional plan may be proactively purchased for additional credits.

Credits cannot be transferred to another student.
