Teaming Up Towards Inclusion: CVUSD is one of 94 SIP Grantees!

The Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to share that it is one of 94 school districts in California to earn a Supporting Inclusive Practices (SIP) Grant for the 2024-2025 school year. The CVUSD will receive $30,500 in funds to support its pursuit of inclusive and equitable systems from July 2024 through September 2026.

The SIP funds will be used for a myriad of initiatives to support inclusion in the CVUSD, including engaging activities for students, such as Unified Sports, and impactful professional learning and training for staff. This professional development for staff will include TK/Kindergarten teacher training for inclusion, Co-Teaching training for teachers and administrators, paraeducator training, and model teaching from elementary special educators.

The vision of SIP is, “for every student to be educated in an environment that is intentionally designed, equitable, and inclusive.” As a grantee, SIP will also provide assistance to the CVUSD through its three-tier system:

  • Tier 1: Open access to resources - including live/recorded webinars, reference banks and guidance on inclusive practices - designed to build LEA, school and classroom capacity for equity and inclusion.

  • Tier 2: Ongoing support to grantee - including funding, exclusive professional learning events and coaching/strategic planning - designed to meet school district specific needs as school districts improve outcomes in state performance indicators.

  • Tier 3: Technical assistance for statewide change as directed by CDE.

CVUSD is proud to be a SIP grantee, and part of the coalition of districts and educators who are committed to work together to promote inclusion in the best interest of all students!

SIP is funded by the California Department of Education, Special Education Division, through Riverside County Office of Education and El Dorado County Office of Education. SIP also partners with various university and technology partners to provide the best in research and technological support to its grantees. Click here to learn more about SIP.
